If you are or will be taking care of elderly persons, you can join the Social Welfare Department (SWD) and Department of Health (DH)’s pilot training scheme which has 8 core modules in elderly care and care skills, and 4 elective modules on caring for elderly persons with dementia and stroke. Training materials will be available in Chinese, English, Tagalog, Bahasa Indonesia and Thai.

Your employer must recommend or give you permission attend and they must take out employees' compensation insurance policies.

Elder sitting service is available at the training centre. As there is limited space, you or your employer will need to call the SWD or DH to confirm the elder sitting arrangement at least 3 days before the actual training.
